Steps to Maximum Benefits Entitlement - 1

Although we all probably know a lot about some benefits, feeling confident that we’ve applied for all the benefits entitlement we might qualify for—when the system is such a maze—is a very different matter.

What’s more, the DWP doesn’t have a duty to help us identify benefits we may be missing out on, so accessing full benefit entitlement at the moment often depends on knowing the right questions to ask.

But by breaking the benefits system down into ‘steps’ and then working our way from step one through to three, (and sometimes back to two - but more of that later!) it is possible to feel sure that we’ve considered all the options.

And what’s more, we don’t have to sing tunes from the ‘Sound of Music’ whilst doing it...

The pages that follow will lead you through the steps,  with links to help you decide which benefits entitlement you might be able to get.

Welfare Rights Services, CABs and other sources of benefits advice in your area should be able to advise you further, help with form completion etc
